Māori healing practices, such as Mirimiri, Romiromi and Rongoā Rākau, is a holistic approach to wellness. The practice goes beyond the physical body; it also seeks to address emotional and spiritual imbalances, assisting in the recovery from trauma and emotional distress. Mirimiri provides a uniquely enriching experience that respects and honours the wisdom of our ancestors while supporting well-being in today's world.
Mirimiri is a form of bodywork that plays a vital role in traditional Māori healing. Its purpose is to restore balance, improve functionality, and relieve deeply entrenched tension within the body through the agitation of tissues, muscles, bones, blood, and fluids.
The methods used consist of applying pressure to haemata (pressure points) with tools such as kōhatu (stones) and rākau (wood), as well as utilising hands, feet, elbows, and body weight to engage with the muscles and tissues.
We operate within the the korowai of a kaupare (cloak of ancient incantation) that has been passed down by Papa Joe Delamare. It is his teachings that we deliver during our sessions.

WHAT IS RONGOĀ MĀORI?
Rongoā is sensing. It’s using all of the senses to be able to bring balance into not only the individual but whanau (family) and the wider community that surrounds them. Rongoā is about maintaining balance, knowing and sensing when there is an imbalance in the body, mind and spirit and also within the whanau.
